About us
Sober Sister is more than just a brand—it’s a powerful movement born from resilience, recovery, and a mission to change lives. Founded by a courageous Australian woman who overcame a 14-year battle with addiction that began at age 14 and nearly cost her her life at age 27, Sober Sister is built on lived experience, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping others.
Sober Sister began her recovery journey in August 2014 and guided by the powerful belief: “If sharing my story saves even just one life, I’ll be forever grateful.”, at just three months sober, she bravely started speaking out, determined to reach others facing the same struggles. Her raw honesty and unwavering strength quickly gained national attention, earning her multiple media features and she is now recognised as one of Australia’s leading voices in addiction recovery.
In January 2024, to continue to spread awareness, she launched the Sober Sister Facebook page—a safe, supportive space that quickly grew to over 50,000 followers in under a year. More than just a page, it has become a compassionate, nonjudgmental community where people from all walks of life come together to share their stories, strength, and hope. It’s a place where individuals can find connection, encouragement, and the reminder that they are never alone in their journey through addiction and mental health challenges.
Sober Sister is now a thriving platform that includes a website offering personal stories, educational content, and resources for those impacted by addiction and mental health challenges. As a qualified Registered Nurse with postgraduate training in mental health and addiction, Sober Sister combines clinical insight with lived experience to offer unique, empathetic support.
To sustain and grow this mission, in 2025 Sober Sister launched a merchandise line that not only spreads awareness but also financially supports the initiative. Every purchase helps fund ongoing outreach, content creation, research, and advocacy—ensuring the message continues to reach those who need it most.
This campaign is not just about selling merchandise—it’s about standing together in the fight to break the stigma around addiction and mental health. By supporting Sober Sister, people are helping to save lives, one story at a time.
